Tomorrow morning marks day one of my summer break. Woo hoo! How I have longed for this day. It also marks the beginning of no alarm clock or early morning wake-ups. It marks the beginning of lounging around in our PJs, eating breakfast and lunch as we please. Play dates and swimming adventures. Playing in the backyard and reading good books. Naps and long movies. Lots of loving and snuggling and just being with my girl. I can't wait. Have I mentioned that I am so excited?
Tomorrow also marks day of potty training boot camp. Have I mentioned that I am not so excited about this? I mean I am, but I'm not. Pray for me. My plan is to go cold turkey. No diapers at all, just big girl undies (which we bought today). I know there are like a million ways to do this and tips and techniques, but I'm going to attempt this way first. For the next three days I plan to stay at home, push milk and water and juice and take MK to the potty every twenty or so minutes. And hopefully by Wednesday my girl will be done with diapers. That's my plan anyway. And unfortunately, my plans don't always work out. The funny thing is, this is all 100% dependent on Morgan Kate. If she wants to do it, then I know she can and she will. If she doesn't want to do it, then I can hang it up and try again in a few weeks. The ultimate, overall plan is to have it accomplished by the end of summer break. I think that's a little more reasonable than Wednesday, but I can always dream, right? Don't worry, I'll be sure to keep everyone posted. And again, pray for me. And for her.

Let me know how the potty training goes. I need to have Brandon potty trained by the end of summer for preschool and he is so not interested. I would start now since I am on materity leave but I am afraid of him regressing when the baby is born at the end of the month so I am waiting until the beginning of August to try and so nervous about it.
I remember going cold turkey as I call it with Chandler. Number 2 was our big thing. We ended up putting a gum ball machine on the back of the potty. Everytime he went to the potty, he got a piece of gum. I hear M&M's work great too.
Here is a chart that she could use. Place a sticker and then reward her throughout for a treat! Hope it is a successful potty day.
