Morgan Kate

My girl has wanted to be a dancer for pretty much all of her life. I know, I know, she's only three, but seriously, ever since she's been old enough to talk and shake her hips to the right and left she has wanted to dance. When she found out that "her Roddey" was also a dance teacher she wanted to take dance even more. The guidelines for dance are two years of age and POTTY TRAINED. Clearly she already met the two requirement, but the whole potty thing, well that was a different story. That was our obstacle to overcome. Our mountain to conquer. And we did it. Well, Morgan Kate and Roddey did it. I might have helped a little. I think. Roddey is not only a teacher, a nurturer, a dancer and many, many other things, but she's a miracle worker and she has magic. She worked her magic on MK and within a very short period of time she was potty trained. Completely. (Insert angels singing.) Anywho, back to my girl with the moves. We had met the age requirement, we met the POTTY TRAINED criteria and now we were waiting on an opening.

And last week we got it. Our opening. And Morgan Kate went to her very first dance class. Oh, how my mommy heart was beaming and bursting. I was never in dance as a child, but people who know me well (and maybe even those who have just seen it in passing) know that I love to shake it. For real. I love to dance and while I might not be the best dancer, I do enjoy it. And I have always wanted my little girl to participate in dance. T be able to give her the opportunity last week just put the biggest smile on my face. I haven't stopped smiling. She was over the moon excited and she might have possibly been THE cutest thing I have ever laid eyes on when I saw her in her dance get-up.

Bring on the tights and leotards! Bring on the skirts and special shoes! And bring on the recitals! This mommy is ready!
