Sunday morning we awoke to find this under our tree. Morgan Kate noticed the gifts right away.
But took a little longer to discover this cute little fellow in our tree. She was so surprised. She kept asking over and over was, "Mommy, who gave these to me?"
The elf in the tree, whom Morgan Kate affectionately named Socks, is filled with magic and can't be touched or else he will lose his magic. Santa or his elves, I'm not sure which, must have known that Morgan Kate needed an elf she could love and touch so they left this one as well. This elf stays with us and does not fly back to the North Pole each night. Thank goodness.
After she opened her "can be touched and loved" elf, she opened a book that told all about her elf and the magic surrounding it. She immediately crawled in my lap and wanted to read. So did I.
It wasn't until after the book and my pointing him out, that she even noticed the elf in the tree. You should have seen her face. Priceless. Absolutely priceless. It literally brought tears in my eyes to see her excitement.
She's in absolute love with her elves and so far she's behaving pretty well. She knows that Socks reports to Santa each night and she wants him to give a good report.

We went back to the doctor today for a recheck. We came home with another round of steroids, another antibiotic, more breathing treatments, orders to use the inhaler and drops for the ear infection she has acquired. No fun at all. Praying my girl gets better SOON!

Get well soon Miss Morgan Kate! What a cute post with elf/socks. Sounds like a fun morning!!
Love her expressions in the pics! Oh the magic of Christmas through the eyes of a child (whether they are 3 or 31..hehe). Love you all.
That is precious. Might have to steal the idea. We have an elf on the shelf but he has never noticed it before or gave it much thought. Love the idea.
Oh, that's so sweet!
I hope she feels better soon!
Our elf Scout just made an appearance this week too! How fun they are - love her excitement a them!
Hope she feels much better soon!
