I am getting really excited about Morgan Kate's near homecoming - I can't even begin to put my feelings into words. It doesn't even seem real. God is so good! We don't have an exact date yet, but we do know it will be soon. It has been such a long time coming and we are so anxious, but also a little nervous. Who wouldn't be though? We want to make sure that we are adequately prepared and feel comfortable with all that needs to be done. She will come home on oxygen and she will come home on some OG feeds. This will be a lot of work, but I know we can do it!
Morgan Kate will be coming home during cold and flu season and her lungs are super fragile right now. Even the slightest cold could put her back in the hospital. Sniffles and small coughs to us are very bad for her. We won't be able to have visitors right away. We will be sort of in quarantine. It's disappointing because we want to share her with everyone and we want her to meet all of you who have been so faithful. However, her health is our top priority right now and we have to make sure her lungs have plenty of time to heal and grow. We have spent a 100+ days in the NICU and we have no plans to return to a hospital anytime soon.
Today was a pretty good day for Morgan Kate. I was able to give her a bottle at 9am. She did really good with the bottle and took almost all of it. Travis gave her another bottle tonight at 9pm and she was way too sleepy. She was very awake and alert today. She was making all sorts of noises and looking all around. She is so stinkin' cute! She didn't gain any ounces tonight, but she did gain a few grams. Her oxygen was around 25ccs for most of the day. At times she was less and during feedings she required just a little more.
I just want to say "Thank You" to all of you who read the blog each day and to those of you that are praying for our family. You all have been such a huge support and encouragement for us. Please know it means the world to us.
Please continue to pray for Morgan Kate! She prays for each of you each night too.

That is great news that she is on her way out. I tell you what, the first two weeks of Parker being home i called his ped. like every day, I was concerned about everything! It was so hard, but so exciting. And RSV season is no fun, hang in there! Can't wait for you to get that adorable girl home!
Good morning!
Praying that your training will go well. The big day is closer! How exciting!

Yahoo!!!!! I am so excited that she will be coming home soon. That is great news. If anyone could handle all that training it would be you guys. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and brighter.

Good Luck on ya'lls training!! I know that all of you will do a great job!! I am soooo excited that Morgan Kate is getting so BIG!! I can't wait to finally meet her!! Call us if you need anything at all.
Love,

We thank you for the daily blogs! It's as much therapy for us as it is for you. Knowing what kind of day she's had and getting to see if there is something specific we need to be praying for is the least that we can do for you and your family! I can't wait to hear how today went, although I know by now the 4 of you have mastered it. Morgan Kate couldn't have been blessed by better parents and grandparents! So excited about her homecoming getting closer!!! Love and prayers, Kelly
Hey Heather! I have prayed for training today and know that you will all do well! We completely understand about Morgan Kate's status. It won't be long before we can all spoil her rotten. Take care and enjoy reading all the fun Christmas stories to Morgan Kate. We love you! Aunt Terry
Heather, I'm so excited for you as you begin to make the preparations for Morgan Kate to be home. Betty told me Monday night how "stinkin' cute" Morgan Kate is. She said she was cooing and making all kinds of noises on Monday when she was there. We'll wait to love on Morgan Kate because we know she's worth the wait! Praying for you each day. Love, Gwen
How exciting! I am sure you will all do beautifully - you already have a pretty good track record. We totally understand about the germs, the fear of bringing germs is what has kept a lot of us from you so far. The good news is... I hear that Santa Claus doesn't carry germs! What a gift to have her home by Christmas. Happy Holidays!
I am soooo glad to hear that she will be coming home soon. I know that y'all are so anxious to get her home. I am sure that training will go great and that you and Travis will do a great job.

Out computer decided to go out and not turn back on the other day so I have been out of the loop with your family. I am so glad to hear the news that she is on her way out of the hospital and to Chapin. I know she will love it there. We can't wait to see you and Morgan Kate but only when she is ready for visitors. Shaun, Christian and I are continuing to pray for you and your family. I know the bid day will be such a blessing. What a wonderful gift from God you have!
