Our girl is just now recovering from an awful, awful sickness that she had all last week. We're still not really sure what she had, but it was terrible. I stayed home with her Monday and Tuesday, Trav stayed home with her Wednesday and Thursday and my mom kept her Friday. I took her to the doctor's office on Monday and this picture was taken on our ride home. Keep in mind that we live literally two minutes from the doctor's office and this was only, maybe, two hours after she had woken up for the day. She was exhausted.
She had a fever that ranged from 100 - 102.9 from Monday until late Thursday night. She had a nasty cough and even nastier nose. She was so lethargic and had no appetite whatsoever. She even threw up a few times. We spent lots of time just lounging and snoozing and snuggling.
Dr. G was booked the day we went in, so we saw Dr. P and she was great. She prescribed an antibiotic, a steroid and breathing treatments every four hours. Morgan Kate did not sleep well at all last week because she couldn't stop coughing and it was difficult to breathe. By the end of each day she looked a lot like this. Break. My. Heart.
There were moments, very few and far between, where she felt okay - usually it was right after a good dose of Motrin. In those moments we would play, read, watch cartoons and one day we even worked on this masterpiece.
But most of our days were spent just lounging around. She was quite the snuggle bunny. I hate, hate, hate for her to be sick, but I love, love, love the snuggles. Her daddy does as well.
The meds seemed to have worked because by Friday she was feeling some better. She's still not 100%, but she's fever free and in much better spirits. I told Travis at one point that this might have been the sickest I have ever seen our baby girl. She was just pitiful. And I am so, so thankful that she is feeling better.
Dear Virus, Cold, Flu, Whatever you are,
Please stay away from our household. You are not welcome here. We do not want to see you anytime soon. Thank you.
