I promise we are still around and I have not forgotten about the blog or the wonderful people, like you, that read the blog each day. Since Wednesday we have not had a lot of spare time.

Brief synopsis: During the day since Wednesday Morgan Kate has been wide awake and crying. She will not sleep, except for a few 10-15 minute naps here and there. We were at a loss as what to do Wednesday night and even called the after hour line for our pediatrician. Wednesday she was doing great with bottles, Thursday not as good, and this morning she would not take one at all. By 8ish each night she falls fast asleep because she is flat wore out. We have been tube feeding her at night because she will not wake up. The tube feedings were going okay until last night. Last night she fought each one and it took forever. Thank goodness Kaky was here to help!

This morning we were exhausted and decided to call the doctor. She asked us to come in. Thank goodness! Not only does Morgan Kate have awful reflux, but the reflux has caused an ear infection, thus causing her to be fussy and irritated. Morgan Kate is now on increased reflux medicine, an antibiotic for her ear, and we are adding rice cereal to her formula to make it thicker.

Other than our poor baby suffering from an ear infection we had a wonderful Christmas! Morgan Kate got lots and lots and we did too. I didn't know it was possible for a little girl to get so much. Santa was definitely good to her! Not only did Santa spoil her rotten, but Kaky and GDaddy did a little too. Ha, ha! Imagine that! She had two stockings, yes, two and her Daddy gave her a precious little bracelet. Sweet. Here are some pictures from Morgan Kate's first Christmas...

WOW. Morgan Kate is so precious and so are you and Travis. The pictures are wonderful. Kaky and Morgan Kate look so content. I know you guys are thankful that she is able to help. What about pictures of Morgan Kate and G-daddy? We are continuing to pray Morgan Kate's reflux will be corrected with medication soon. I pray that you and Travis are able to get some rest. I know it is difficult because you and Travis like any parent and G-parent wants to take all the pain and infection away and make it all better. Morgan Kate knows her Mommy and Daddy love her and they. We love you, Travis and Morgan Kate.
Until we see you again.

Love,
Aunt Jan and MaMa

What wonderful pictures! I just love modern technology and how we can quickly get an update of how things are. We are praying for Morgan Kate's ear infection to clear quickly. Glad the first Christmas was so wonderful! Can you believe we only have one more with Maggie at home? Time flies! We are all very blessed! Love, Aunt Terry

As a mom of three children that have chronic ear infections I really feel for you! They are just terrible. Actually two of my kids have them right now, again!

As a baby my youngest also had terrible reflux and we were told that a lot of time the two go hand in hand so if you can control one you can usually control both. She ended up having tubes put it right before she turned 4 months and was put on previcid for her reflux a while before that. Boy was she a different baby when those two things were taken care of!

I will pray that Morgan Kate starts to feel better very quickly!

PS what med is she on for her reflux?

Megan has had a cold since last Sunday and we took her to our pediatrician on Friday afternoon...we have another ear infection. She has really been a little trooper...she has been playing with her toys as much as possible before retreating to our lap to catch some rest. I know you guys are doing great with MK.

We are so glad that you guys had a great Christmas with sweet little Morgan Kate. Very sorry about the ear infection, but at least you now know the problem so you can treat it. I'll call you this week so I can drop MK's gift off...I'll leave it on the porch:) Hope you've had a good weekend. Love to all.
