Prematurity Awareness Month Fact #8:
The March of Dimes was founded in 1938 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to defeat Polio. Within 17 years, the Salk vaccine was developed and polio was defeated. The March of Dimes then turned its attention to an even greater challenge - fighting birth defects and other infant health problems. With a track record of success in bringing people together to solve complex health challenges, the March of Dimes is uniquely qualified to take on the problem of prematurity.

--------------------
The March of Dimes was excellent at providing us with information once Morgan Kate was born. They sent us informative brochures, pamphlets, videos and even a cute little bear for Morgan Kate.

The money they raise each year goes toward research efforts that help save babies born too early and to also prevent future early births. For more information about where the money goes click here.

You may remember that earlier this year we participated in the March of Dimes Walk. It was such a rewarding experience for me. We were joined by numerous family members and friends, which made the day even more special. This year's walk will be on Saturday, April 24th - mark it on your calendar and get your walking shoes ready!
