Updates and Blessings for 11.09.08

Happy 11 Weeks, Morgan Kate!
It's hard to believe that Morgan Kate is already 11 weeks old and her original due date is only 24 days away. Wow!

Oxygen
Morgan Kate's oxygen ranged from 31%-33% for most of the day. She has been around 31% for the past few days. Hopefully, her oxygen will stay around this number and not continue to increase. Thirty-one percent may seem like a lot compared to last week, but we have to remember that her flow is down to three and her parameters have increased. I pray each and every night, every morning when I wake up, on my drive to and from the hospital, in the elevator and in Morgan Kate's room that her lungs will continue to mature and her oxygen needs will decrease.

Feedings
Morgan Kate took a bottle at 12pm, but was too tired the rest of the day. The nurse will try again tonight at 12. She took her 12pm bottle very well and finished in about 25 minutes. Sometimes while she is drinking her bottle her oxygen sats will drop or she will have a heart rate drop. At 12 today everything went smooth and she didn't have any heart rate drops or sat drops. We are so very thankful!

Weight
Morgan Kate weighed in tonight at 5 pounds and 4.9 ounces. She is growing like a weed and has the chubbiest cheeks! I love it!

Eyes
Morgan Kate has her fourth eye exam Tuesday at 9am. Her first three eye exams were all very good and did not indicate ROP.

So, I have to leave another weekly comment. I love the new pictures of Morgan Kate. The one of her and Travis watching TV is so funny. She seems to be getting so big and yes, her chubby cheeks are precious.
I read your blog about having a "lows" type of week last week and my heart just goes out to you and Travis. I know it may seem like you are not doing everything you can, but beleive me you are. Your dedication and love for her is the biggest gift of all. You have become more of a mother in the last 11 weeks than most moms will ever be, so be proud of yourself and just do what your doing. You faith in God will lift you through these next few weeks, until that special day when you are able to bring Morgan Kate home! If you need anything at all, please let any of us know. We are all here to help! Take care sweetie, it will be a great week!

Hey Heather,

I was reading your post from Saturday and Sunday and was reminded that we go through the things we do in life to help others who will later go through the same things. I found a few passages of scripture that will hopefully encourage you.
The God of All Comfort
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble wth the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
~2 Corinthians 1:3-7
May God continue to heal Morgan Kate's body from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet!

God Bless,
Amy

She is certainly an angel! I have told my friends that she looks "chubby" compared to her first pictures which can't be at all possible at 5 lbs. I look forward to seeing her in person this weekend. Love, Aunt Terry

Hey,
I am simply amazed by this little girl. She is going to be one spunky little kid. Drop by to see us at school (not while the kids are there :). We miss you.
