Prematurity Awareness Month Fact #2:
In nearly 40% of preterm births, the cause is unknown.
I'm not 100% sure we know the real cause of Morgan Kate's early birth. At exactly 24 weeks I began to dilate. At 24 weeks and 5 days my water broke. However, my gut tells me that my water had been leaking for almost a week prior. And at 25 weeks and 4 days my placenta ruptured.

--------------------
As you already know, Morgan Kate was a bumble bee for Halloween. I have to say, she carried it off very well. And I am not the least bit biased. Ha! Here are some of my favorite pictures from our evening.

Morgan Kate getting dressed. She wasn't too sure about all of this.

We attended the Fall Festival at the church I grew up in. We had such a good time and got to see so many people. Travis and I "fought" over who was going to carry MK around all night. We ended up "sharing".

Just the three of us

While there we ran into Kristen, Brent and Asher. I was so excited for the little ones to spend some time together. And of course it was great catching up with Kristen. She and I are four days apart and grew up together. Now we both have babies and they are very close in age.

Love from the grands and a great-grand

MK attended her first "trunk or treat" and Mommy and Daddy got some nice candy

We all had a fabulous time!

Too cute. We don't know what happened for me to have my first early. She wasn't that early 36/6 but she was small for her gestational age.

She was an adorable bee!
I had my son at 35 weeks-I went into pre-term labor at 30 weeks, but managed to keep him in 5 more weeks with bed rest. I was so scared...I can't even imagine that happening at 25 weeks. She is doing amazing!
The OB seems to think my preterm problems were due to stress. However, I had the same preterm contractions and early dilation with my second child, so my activity was restricted early on.
