Day two of potty training boot camp did not go so well. At all. Around ten this morning I put MK in her big girl pants and for the next three hours, every fifteen minutes or so, I would ask if she needed to potty. By one o'clock, nothing. No accidents. No successes. Nothing. And the little girl had had a reasonable amount of fluid. Around 1:30 I gave up and put her in a diaper. I let her eat lunch and nap with said diaper.

Immediately after her nap, with a still very dry diaper, I encouraged once more to sit on the potty. This time she was successful! I was relieved that she was actually going. I made an enormous deal about it, rewarded her and kept my fingers crossed for the rest of the day. Shortly after her nap, we spent a great deal of time outdoors in her little pool, therefore, I'm not sure if she "pottied" or not. I do know that after we came in and put her big girl pants back on she had a big accident right in front of the television. I tried not to make a big deal about that, cleaned it up and decided to call it a night.

Here are the things I have tried so far:
-Big girl pants or stark naked all day
-Asking her every so often is she needs to go
-Making a really big deal when she does go -rewarding her with skittles, stickers, M&Ms, gummies, an icee, WHATEVER I can think of
-Giving her lots to drink
-Letting her watch potty videos
-Reading potty books
-Leaving potty in the bathroom
-Bringing potty out in the living areas

I realize it's only day two and that this really is a big deal. I also realize this requires an extraordinary amount of patience. And I may or may not have had the most patience at all times. But, this girl is showing absolute no interest in using the potty. When she's wearing a diaper she will tell me when she's going and grab the diaper. She will run to me after she's finished with her business and ask to be changed. But, when it comes to the potty - nothing. Nada. She could care less about that thing. However, with all of that said, I'm not giving up. Not yet. I'm going to keep on keeping on. And hopefully by the end of the summer this little girl will no longer need diapers and wipes. Fingers crossed.

Oh boy, potty training is rough! Drew was like Morgan Kate - NO interest in the potty. He would cry if we put him on it. We ended up waiting until the month before he turned 3 and then it was done in a weekend, but he was finally ready. Kayley, being the second, was very interested in sitting in the potty, but she was potty trained in April and still has an accident about every other day at daycare. And she laughs about them, which is so frustrating because we know she knows better now.

Hang in there!

Carter has no interest in his potty but really likes the big potty. Of course he goes to daycare and we are going through the same thing but his teacher takes them to the potty every 30 minutes. There are no questions they just have to go to the potty and at least try to go to the bathroom. He still doesn't do #2 on the potty and will tell you right before so we just put a diaper on him for that. Good luck!
